The Dog Trouble Fundamentals Workshop is an intensive course aimed at teaching dog owners how to address and manage their dog’s behaviour by implementing the key fundamentals that are essential in keeping a dog balanced. The course is limited to a maximum of 10 owners and their dogs to enable owners to work with Jo on a 1:1 basis in addition to benefiting from group work.
Workshops are held each month on the following dates at Dog Trouble 10.00-2.00pm:

The Fundamentals course includes:
- Understanding how dogs communicate and operate in ‘Survival’ mode
- Assessing the energy and drive in your dog and how to manage these drives in resolving behaviour issues
- How to walk your dog calmly on leash with other dogs
- Identifying and addressing ‘Imbalance’ in your dog- the importance of Nutrition, Health and Environmental factors.
- How to manage Dog reactive behaviour
- Recall work
The course includes light lunch. Each student will receive a free copy of Jo’s Dog Rehabilitation Booklet.
In addition to the Fundamentals course Jo provides Top-up Workshops throughout the year for owners requiring a ‘refresher’ to keep them and their dog on track.
Dog Walker Workshop
The next workshop will be on Saturday, August 24th, 1.00-4.00pm at Dog Trouble
Do you offer a dog walking service or home boarding, or are you planning to start a dog walking or home boarding business?
If so, this workshop is for you. It will teach you how to deliver a safe and effective service to clients by demonstrating leadership and control whilst being confident when walking groups of dogs in public.

Junior Pack Leader Workshops
A two-day dog behaviour workshop from 10:00 to 15:00 during school holiday time for young people aged between 6-12 years old. A fun but informative practical workshop educating young people about basic dog behaviour and how to behave around and care for dogs in a safe, balanced way. Perfect for kids that love dogs!

Age 6-12 years. Workshop times are 10.30-3.30pm. Each young person must attend each day and bring a packed lunch. Young People will get to work with their own dog or care for a balanced dog from the Dog Trouble Pack for two days! They will experience the daily routine of the Dog Trouble Pack involving how to walk a dog by their side, how to play with them safely, how to keep a dog healthy and how to understand a dog’s body language. Fun activities they will teach their dog will include dog agility, swimming and search and find games. Click here to view photos! Drinks are provided. Learning to Lead Workshop
Learning to Lead is a 2-day Workshop, designed for a maximum of 6 women, in developing the ability to be calm and assertive, both in relation to your dog and in your everyday life. The workshop focuses on the importance of leadership through working with dogs.
This is a practical and theoretical workshop where students can bring their own dog or work with a dog from the Dog Trouble pack. You will learn the importance of maintaining balance through mind-body-spirit activities that you can implement in your daily life and how positive changes in your energy can improve your relationship with your dog. Local dog-friendly accommodation options will be provided to registered students. The Workshop includes tea and coffee throughout the day and a delicious two-course lunch on both days. Accommodation for dogs is available on request.

Canine First Aid Class
The Canine First Aid Company always makes sure that the course is held in a relaxed environment so that the customer feels comfortable. The courses are always fun, enjoyable and very informative so you have all the information and skills needed to save a dogs life! There are lots of practical hands on participation so that you know how to perform all the vital elements to save a mans.. and woman’s best friend!
Saturday, 2nd March 2019, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
This course offers two types of certification – Successful Completion £55 and a formal Accreditation £85. The accredited certification is for those who work or want to work in the dog business. The initial course is the same – but those who wish to do the Accreditation will be required to complete a quiz at the end of the initial course. The course starts at 10:00 and is approximately 3 1/2 hours to 4 hours long. Tea and coffee will be provided.
There is no difference in course content, however, if you have a business the Accreditation is formally recognised which has proven very positive for those with dog businesses and their clients.
Students receive Certificates and hand-outs, shock blankets, face shields, and access to a free Canine First Aid App. Human and Canine First Aid Kits will also be available for purchase as well as lifesaving ice packs for heatstroke.

Canine Massage Class
This half-day workshop is intended to introduce you and your dog to the benefits of canine massage, perfect for those dog owners who have no massage experience. Learn a little about what is under your dog’s skin and how canine massage can influence this. Increase your awareness by understanding how pain can impact your dog, both mentally and physically and what you can do to avoid/reduce it. The workshop will contain both theory and practical instruction and you will go home with several massage techniques and simple stretches that you can practice on your own dog. Handouts will be supplied, but please bring a notepad and pen with you if you would like to take further notes.
Please bring your dog’s bed and/or blankets with you. Please advise the host if your dog needs extra space away from other dogs. We will do our best to ensure that the room layout is organised to accommodate everyone.

The Workshop runs from 10:00 to 2:00pm and includes tea, coffee and biscuits. Please advise the host if you require non-dairy milk. Attendees must complete a Veterinary Consent Form prior to the Workshop.

For those individuals wanting to shadow Jo Cottrell in her work rehabilitating dogs and educating people in dog behaviour. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals to participate in one-one, intense, practical work with dogs with behaviour issues. You will learn the stages of dog rehabilitation from assessment through to practical rehabilitation of a dog and can be designed specifically for you over a duration of your choice eg 1 day, 1 week.
