Boot Camp is for those dogs that require a more intensive residential programme away from their home environment in order to learn how to be a dog again and become balanced.
Dogs exhibiting dog aggression issues really benefit from this programme as they are integrated with a pack of balanced sociable dogs.
Dogs exhibiting the following behaviour will be considered for Boot Camp:
- Aggressive towards dogs
- Aggressive towards humans
- Out of control on a walk
- Not responding to commands
- Destructive in the home
- Extreme fear/anxiety
Prior to being accepted a 1-1 dog behaviour consultation with Jo Cottrell is required to ascertain the dogs behaviour and discuss the length of time required in Boot Camp.
At the end of their stay Jo Cottrell will work with owners to re-introduce their dog back into their home, showing owners the basic structure and techniques that will enable them to maintain balance between them and their dog.
Each Client will be given an approximate length of time that it will take for their dog to be rehabilitated. However please be advised that this is solely dependent on the dog themselves, it may be shorter or longer than anticipated but client’s will be notified of this if applicable.
Daily sessions for Boot Camp dogs may include Rollerblading, Cycling, Swimming, Agility and breed specific activities.
